The whole society should respect model workers and carry forward the spirit of model workers, so that honest work and diligent work become a common practice. " On April 30, 2018, the General Secretary of the Supreme Leader wrote back to the undergraduate class of model workers in China Institute of Labor Relations, and extended festive greetings to them and to all the model workers and laborers in the country.
Flowers bloom because of sweat, and career thrives because of struggle. In the past four years, all the students in the model worker undergraduate class of China Institute of Labor Relations and tens of thousands of workers in Qian Qian all over the country, under the guidance of the spirit of the general secretary’s reply, have blossomed with wisdom and sweat.
On the occasion of the May 1 International Labor Day, Guangming Daily reporters approached front-line workers from all walks of life to see how they can carry forward the spirit of model workers and strive to be strugglers in the new era.
1. Work hard, struggle, run and chase dreams
"In his reply, the General Secretary said,’ Socialism is done, and so is the new era’. I feel excited. As a laborer working in the front line of the port, I know that there is no glory waiting for it, only the wonderful work. In crane operation, there is no more difficult safety and high quality requirement than loading beer. Because domestic beer exports mostly use small boats, affected by tides, the stability of the ship is not enough, and problems will occur if the operation is slightly careless. Wang Jiaquan used the rest time to carefully observe the influence of tide on loading and made a crane handle to simulate the operation. Hard work pays off, he has developed excellent technology, summarized and refined the operation method of "beer shore crane operation" and created a brand of "100 million bottles of hardcover" beer loading operation. From an ordinary migrant worker driver to a technical backbone, he wrote his dreams with struggle.
After finishing his studies and returning to work, Wang Jiaquan optimized five container operation processes and tackled more than 30 mechanical equipment problems. "With the development and implementation of the’ double carbon’ goal, our port is actively building a smart green port, and I have also begun to explore the transformation of new energy machinery such as hybrid front cranes and pure electric forklifts. I hope that in the future, the fuel vehicles I use can be changed to pure electric vehicles, which not only meets the production needs, but also saves energy and protects the environment. " He said.

Saifuding Isre Yili, a national model worker and shift supervisor of calcium carbide workshop 1 of Xinjiang Zhongtai Group Toksun Energy Chemical Company, said.
After returning to work, Saifuding took the initiative to apply to the front line of poverty alleviation. Appointed by the company in 2019, he came to support Zhongtai Dongzhan Clothing Co., Ltd., Xianbai Bazaar Town, Yutian County, Hotan District, Xinjiang. "There are thousands of people in the company, and ethnic minorities account for 80%. In order to familiarize everyone with their professional skills as soon as possible, I actively trained them in the national common language. Now everyone has changed from’ learning skills by drawing’ to’ learning skills by communication’, which greatly improves work efficiency. " He said.
"When I was young, I also had the lofty ambition of’ a trip to the Avenue, the world is for the public’. Now I feel more and more that it is my mission and responsibility to drive more people to live a happy life with the technology in their hands. " Saifuding said.
2. It is necessary to be old and new.
With the advancement of modernization, China is gradually changing from a manufacturing power to a manufacturing power, in which technological innovation is an important driving force. In this regard, Zhu Jun, winner of the National May 1 Labor Medal and senior technician of CNC lathe in the comprehensive transmission branch of China ordnance industry Jianglu Electromechanical Group Co., Ltd., was deeply touched.
Because Zhu Jun’s company is responsible for the precision machining of many key parts of the comprehensive transmission device of special vehicles, it often encounters some parts with high precision and complex structure, which means that a lot of experiments are often needed to design the best technological scheme.
On one occasion, the company requested to reduce the error range of parts from 0.05 mm to 0.015 mm. At that time, everyone shook their heads. Is this possible? Zhu Jun thought to himself, "Give it a try. Try your best and you may succeed."
After that, no matter day or night, Zhu Jun has been trying to find a solution, sometimes even reading in the middle of the night. He actively consulted the master, read professional books, did a lot of experiments and sorted out relevant data … Finally, through unremitting efforts, he boldly broke through the inherent technology and successfully completed the task.

"In the new era, we skilled workers should strive to be the strugglers of innovation and development!" Su Jian, a 2017 undergraduate model worker of China Institute of Labor Relations, a national model worker and a senior engineer of CRRC Tangshan Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., was still excited when he talked about the moment he received the reply.
In recent years, Su Jian has always been committed to tackling the problem of "localization of brake pipes". We should know that there are 1100 pipes in the whole train of EMU, which together with the wires form the "nervous system" of EMU. After nearly 4,500 tests and more than 12,000 data were collected, Su Jian finally controlled the angle error of the elbow to 0.1 degree and the length error to 1 mm, and realized interchangeable assembly and mass production. At the moment of success, he proudly said, "We China workers did what foreign companies failed to do!"
In the future, Su Jian has a wish to make the assembly of Fuxing high-speed EMU digital and intelligent. He said that the unit where he works undertakes the assembly work of the EMU, which is basically manual operation. It is an important embodiment of the national digital transformation strategy to realize digital intelligence of the manual operation of the traditional equipment manufacturing industry.
"At present, we have carried out the intelligent and flexible innovation research on the air tightness experiment of the brake system, and the relevant achievements won the Outstanding Technological Innovation Achievement Award of Hebei Province in 2020, and obtained two patent authorizations. I will redouble my efforts to speed up the Chinese dream in the future! " Su Jian said.
3. Excellent skills and pursuit of perfection

The words of General Secretary hit the floor inspired me to strive to become a skilled person who understands theory and can innovate! " When it comes to reply, Ning Yunzhan, a national model worker, a great country craftsman and a senior technician of vehicle fitter of CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., said this.

50 microns, as thin as hair, is the largest space for Ning Yunzhan to elaborate. His job is to grind the positioning arm of the high-speed train. Without grinding, the safety of the high-speed train cannot be guaranteed. If it is worn too much, the high-speed rail bogie may be scrapped.
For this reason, Ning Yunzhan boldly abandoned the foreign grinding technology and developed the "pure manual grinding operation method of pneumatic grinding wheel", which more than doubled the grinding efficiency and broke the bottleneck that had long restricted the mass production of bogies.
Statistics show that the bogies ground from Ning Yunzhan and his team have been running more than 2 billion kilometers with more than 1,400 Fuxing EMUs, which is equivalent to more than 50,000 laps around the earth.
Nowadays, as the key project of the company’s new model, carbon fiber project has attracted much attention, but the wide application of new materials and new equipment often brings various difficulties to production. Since the beginning of 2022, it has been difficult to install the titanium alloy parts of the frame side beam of carbon fiber project. Ning Yunzhan found through observation that the surface smoothness of carbon fiber is not enough, and the titanium alloy parts are bent due to processing problems, which makes it difficult to fit into the installation holes. To this end, he actively carried out technical research, and added measurement and testing points on the basis of the original process to ensure the smooth assembly of products.
In the workshop of Zhongtieshan Bridge Group Co., Ltd., steel plates with different shapes are the most common "iron bumps", but after being treated by Qu Yan, a national model worker, a great craftsman and a special technician of Zhongtieshan Bridge Welding Laboratory, they have been carved into pieces of "works of art".

In 2012, Zhongtieshan Bridge established an innovative studio named after Quyan. Subsequently, Quyan Studio participated in the deck maintenance of Victoria razzano Bridge in new york, USA, and a series of key projects such as Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Padma Bridge.
Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is the longest sea-crossing bridge in the world. There are many butt welds when assembling steel box girder segments, and there are many butt welds when climbing the inclined floor and standing the web, which makes welding extremely difficult. Therefore, Qu Yan and the team optimized the welding process parameters and applied them to the integral assembly of steel box girder and the welding production of steel anchor box, and the qualified rate of internal quality was 100%. This process innovation filled the gap in the field of steel bridge manufacturing in China.
Nowadays, with the gradual warming of the weather, many people wear shorts and short sleeves, but in order to avoid being burned by the sparks splashed during welding, Qu Yan always wears thick overalls. He always felt that it was a pleasure to be able to "embroider" on steel. "I hope that my team and I can make a breakthrough in automatic welding in the future and realize the dream of replacing manual operation with automatic devices as soon as possible." Qu Yan said with a smile.
