    CCTV News (China News): 5? In the 12 earthquake, Wolong Giant Panda Research Center was severely damaged. Fifty-three giant pandas, including six pregnant giant pandas, were moved to Bifengxia base in Ya ‘an. On July 6th, giant panda Guo gave birth to twins in Bifengxia base in Ya ‘an. Now, this pair of giant panda babies, who have been more than 100 days, are growing well.


    This pair of giant pandas is a pair of twins, and their birth is particularly difficult. Their mother, Guo Guo, was pregnant for 119 days when she was transferred due to the earthquake. In order to reduce the adverse effects caused by earthquake fright, long-distance transfer and adaptation to the new environment, the staff took care of it 24 hours a day. Finally, the heroic mother successfully gave birth to the pair of dragons and phoenixes. Now, the giant panda twins have their names: Ping Ping and An An.


    Li Desheng, deputy director of China Research Center for the Protection of Giant Panda: After the twins were born, we collected the birth names of the first pair of twins from all over the world. In the end, we got the most votes in peace, and we also felt that all sectors of society hoped that giant pandas would be safe.


    It is understood that in 2008, the 13 panda cubs that survived in the research center were very healthy.
